Summary: The Java Developer 2 role is a remote position requiring extensive experience in Java and related technologies. The candidate should possess strong skills in web application development, cloud technologies, and software development life cycle principles. Additionally, familiarity with DevOps practices and tools is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain web applications using Java, JSP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap.
  • Implement SQL, DDL, DML, and Stored Procedures for database management.
  • Utilize Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and Spring Batch for application development.
  • Develop Web APIs, with a focus on REST and SOAP protocols.
  • Apply Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) concepts in application design.
  • Work with MS Azure Cloud technologies, including Azure SQL Server and JBOSS EAP.
  • Engage in scripting and batch processing across various technologies.
  • Ensure web applications are WCAG compliant.
  • Test software applications using a data-driven development approach.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software system issues.

Key Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience in Java development.
  • Proficiency in JSP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap 2.0.
  • Experience with SQL, DDL, DML, and Stored Procedures.
  • Knowledge of Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and Spring Batch.
  • Familiarity with Web API Development (SOAP, REST, XML, JSON).
  • Understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Experience with MS Azure Cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of scripting and batch processing.
  • Experience in building WCAG compliant web applications.
  • Ability to test software applications accurately.
  • Problem-solving skills in software installation and troubleshooting.
  • 3+ years of experience with GitHub in a DevOps environment.
  • Strong communication skills for documentation and reporting.
  • Familiarity with SDLC tools like Visio, Miro, ERWIN, Jira, Confluence, and ALM Octane.
  • Experience with .Net and C# is a plus.
  • Experience integrating web services across cloud platforms.
  • Experience with automating identity management services.
  • Experience with Texas Workforce Commission is preferred.
