We are seeking an experienced IT Operations Engineer to support a high-profile organization in the professional sports industry.

This is a full-time remote opportunity focused on maintaining and troubleshooting enterprise IT infrastructure across networking, Windows servers, virtualization, backups, monitoring, and Active Directory.

The role is heavily hands-on and requires someone comfortable working an overnight shift in a mission-critical environment.

Shift Schedule

Hours: 11:00 PM - 8:00 AM

Schedule: Friday through Tuesday

Remote

Holiday coverage required when games are scheduled

Required Skills & Experience

  • Professional experience supporting IT infrastructure in an enterprise environment
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting Cisco network switches using CLI
  • Strong understanding of Layer 1 and Layer 2 networking
  • Experience monitoring network circuits and working with external vendors to resolve connectivity issues
  • Experience troubleshooting wireless access points
  • Windows Server administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Experience using WSUS for enterprise patch management
  • Experience with vulnerability remediation and security patching
  • VMware vCenter experience for virtual machine administration
  • Experience with enterprise backup solutions such as Rubrik
  • Active Directory administration and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with SolarWinds or similar infrastructure monitoring platforms
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple issues during an overnight shift
  • Ability to work Friday through Tuesday from 11:00 PM - 8:00 AM

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Cisco networking experience
  • CCNA, Network+, or CompTIA A+ certification
  • Experience supporting mission-critical or high-availability environments
  • Experience working in professional sports, entertainment, hospitality, or other live-event environments
  • Experience with enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions
  • Strong understanding of Windows infrastructure and Active Directory
  • Experience with network monitoring and alerting platforms
  • Familiarity with security and vulnerability management tools
  • Strong incident response and troubleshooting skills

What You Will Be Doing

  • Monitor network circuits and coordinate with service providers to troubleshoot outages and performance issues
  • Troubleshoot Cisco network switches at Layer 1 and Layer 2 using Cisco CLI
  • Troubleshoot wireless access points and connectivity issues
  • Administer and maintain Windows Server environments
  • Manage server patching through WSUS
  • Apply security patches and perform vulnerability remediation across servers and network infrastructure
  • Perform registry modifications and other remediation activities when required to address vulnerabilities
  • Manage virtual machines through VMware vCenter
  • Perform and validate backups using Rubrik or similar enterprise backup platforms
  • Monitor infrastructure health, availability, and alerts through SolarWinds
  • Perform Active Directory administration and basic troubleshooting
  • Communicate technical issues, business impact, and resolution steps to business stakeholders
  • Provide detailed shift handoffs to ensure continuity between teams
  • Document incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions
  • Manage multiple concurrent tasks and prioritize issues based on business impact
  • Support technology infrastructure during scheduled games and other high-priority events
