Skillset / Experience
We are seeking an experienced IT Audit professional to support a large global financial services organization on a complex regulatory remediation and Financial Crimes Technology initiative.
This engagement requires a senior, hands-on auditor who can independently assess risk, develop testing strategies, execute complex audit procedures, and produce high-quality documentation with minimal oversight. The role will work with stakeholders across North America, EMEA, and APAC and requires flexibility to support global working hours.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of IT Audit experience, preferably within large global financial services organizations.
- Significant experience with regulatory remediation, issue validation, corrective action plans, and regulatory-driven programs.
- Strong experience auditing AML and Financial Crimes technology, including transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, KYC/CDD, and related systems.
- Experience auditing SDLC, Change Management, system configurations, and application controls.
- Experience evaluating data interfaces, data lineage, data quality controls, and system-to-system integrations.
- Strong risk assessment, controls testing, and substantive testing experience.
- Ability to independently determine testing requirements, develop testing approaches, and execute with minimal oversight.
- Experience reviewing technical documentation, system architecture, data flows, and code.
- Prior experience working with stakeholders or technology environments across EMEA and APAC.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to work East Coast business hours with flexibility to accommodate EMEA/APAC stakeholders as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate regulatory remediation activities and corrective action plans associated with regulatory findings.
- Develop and execute risk-based testing strategies to validate remediation efforts.
- Perform IT Audit testing across technology governance, change management, technology operations, applications, and data controls.
- Assess AML and Financial Crimes technology environments and their associated control frameworks.
- Review system configurations, technical documentation, data flows, interfaces, and application controls to identify risk and validate remediation.
- Conduct targeted substantive testing and deep-dive reviews of complex technology and control environments.
- Independently challenge assumptions, identify root causes, and develop meaningful audit observations and recommendations.
- Prepare high-quality workpapers and audit documentation capable of withstanding rigorous internal, regulatory, and external review.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across North America, EMEA, and APAC.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience auditing payments systems and related technology environments.
- Experience supporting significant regulatory remediation or enforcement initiatives.
- Experience auditing model validation or model risk management processes.
- Professional certifications such as CISA, CIA, CAMS, or CPA.
