Summary: The role of Senior iOS Engineer involves designing and maintaining iOS applications focused on Trust & Safety for a global consumer technology company. This fully remote position requires strong technical judgment and ownership to create safe user experiences. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to translate complex requirements into effective solutions while raising standards for code quality and accessibility. The position is initially a 6-month contract and classified as outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain high-quality iOS experiences that support Trust & Safety initiatives
  • Own features end-to-end, from early problem framing through implementation, release, and iteration
  • Translate ambiguous or sensitive requirements into clear, thoughtful technical solutions
  • Partner closely with backend, product, design, data, and Trust & Safety teams
  • Proactively identify risks, edge cases, and failure modes, particularly in safety-critical user flows
  • Raise standards for code quality, testing, performance, and accessibility across iOS
  • Help drive iOS best practices through mentorship and technical leadership

Key Skills:

  • Strong experience building and shipping production iOS applications using Swift (UIKit and/or SwiftUI)
  • Senior-level ownership and execution mindset; comfortable leading work with minimal direction
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, high-impact environments
  • Thoughtful approach to building user-facing systems with safety, privacy, and inclusivity in mind
  • Experience working on Trust & Safety, abuse prevention, moderation, or identity-related features (nice to have)
  • Familiarity with backend systems, particularly Golang and/or Google Cloud Platform (nice to have)
  • Understanding of how iOS clients interact with large-scale backend services (nice to have)

Senior iOS Engineer 6 month contract initially, Outside IR35, Fully remote role (UK/Europe) A global consumer technology company is building products where Trust & Safety is foundational to the user experience. They are looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to help create safe, respectful, and empowering experiences for a large, diverse user base. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical judgment, a deep sense of ownership, and the ability to bring clarity and execution to complex and sensitive problem spaces. You’ll work on iOS features that protect users, prevent harm, and support meaningful interactions—often in environments where requirements are evolving and the stakes are high.
