Summary: The International Payroll and Accounts Payable Manager is a critical role within the finance function, responsible for overseeing payroll and accounts payable operations across multiple countries. The position emphasizes accuracy, compliance, and efficiency while fostering strong relationships with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience in international payroll management and accounts payable, with a focus on process improvement and collaboration. Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing payroll operations across the UK and international locations
- Liaising with external payroll providers to ensure accurate and compliant processing
- Reviewing payroll outputs including tax, pension, and statutory deductions
- Partnering with HR to manage employee changes such as onboarding, leavers, and salary updates
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting payroll reporting
- Handling employee expense payments across multiple regions
- Supporting month-end and year-end close activities related to payroll and payables
- Assisting with audits and ensuring robust financial controls are in place
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and implement automation
- Managing the full accounts payable cycle, from invoice processing through to supplier payments
- Monitoring payment schedules and ensuring suppliers are paid within agreed terms
- Reconciling supplier accounts and resolving any discrepancies efficiently
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in accounts payable and payroll management in an international environment
- Experience in Portuguese Payroll is advantageous
- Strong systems knowledge (ERP and Excel)
- Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
