Summary: The International Accountant will support the client’s international accounting team by providing comprehensive accounting, reporting, and operational support across multiple countries. This role involves managing financial closing procedures, payroll cycles, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The position requires a strong understanding of international accounting practices and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in international accounting and proficiency in relevant software systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing procedures for several international entities including accurate preparation and posting of journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Create and post complex intercompany chargeback calculation journal entries based on transfer pricing agreements and accrual journal entries for assigned accounts.
  • Independently manage monthly and bi-weekly payroll cycles for several international entities by including accurate preparation of journal entries.
  • Coordinate new hire setups and employee departure processes related to payroll.
  • Work closely with the company’s external payroll partners to ensure compliance with local requirements.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; MBA or CPA desirable.
  • 8 years of practical international accounting experience and a basic understanding of payroll accounting.
  • 3 years working experience in SAP or other ERP FI accounting system (GL, AP, AR).
  • Strong understanding of common financial concepts, project accounting concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Quick adaptation to client International, Inc.'s business model and operations.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and familiarity with International GAAP differences, capable of independently researching and interpreting accounting guidelines.
  • Proficient in using the entire Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and Adobe PDF.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication abilities and open to an international business atmosphere.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and thrive under pressure.
