Summary: The Internal Auditor role is a fixed-term contract for 12 months with a leading construction firm, focusing on conducting risk-based audits across the organization. The position requires engagement with various business units to deliver audit work professionally and effectively. The auditor will prepare and execute audits, identify findings, and follow up on action plans while collaborating with team members. This role is remote with occasional travel to sites in the Midlands area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and execute audits, including leading meetings and performing testing.
- Identify potential findings and agree on their factual accuracy and impact with auditees.
- Formulate and agree on action plans with auditees, including importance and timeframes.
- Follow up on the implementation of agreed actions.
- Facilitate business unit risk reviews.
Key Skills:
- Part-qualified in a relevant accountancy or internal auditing qualification.
- Experience in Internal Audit or with a firm of accountants.
- Strong written communication skills and ability to produce high-quality work.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills for communication at all levels.
- Effective time management and planning abilities.
