Summary: The Internal Auditor role is a fixed-term contract for 12 months with a leading construction firm, focusing on conducting risk-based audits across the organization. The position requires collaboration with various business units and involves preparing and executing audits, identifying findings, and formulating action plans. The role is remote but may require occasional travel to sites. The successful candidate will report to the Audit Manager and must possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and execute audits, including leading meetings and performing testing.
  • Identify potential findings and agree on their factual accuracy and impact with auditees.
  • Formulate and agree on action plans with auditees, including importance and timeframes.
  • Follow up on the implementation of agreed actions.
  • Facilitate business unit risk reviews.

Key Skills:

  • Part-qualified in a relevant accountancy or internal auditing qualification.
  • Experience in Internal Audit or with a firm of accountants.
  • Strong analytical skills and inquisitive nature.
  • High-quality written communication skills.
  • Effective time management and planning abilities.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills for communication at all levels.
