Summary: Cedar is seeking an Interim Strategic Procurement Manager for a Public Sector client in the North East, with a focus on transport procurement. Key Responsibilities:

Detailed Description From Employer:

Cedar are supporting a Public Sector client, based in the North East, who are looking to hire an Interim Strategic Procurement Manager – Transport. This role will run for 12-Months initially and will operate INSIDE IR35 paying £475 up to £550 per day. This role will be based remotely (home based) with the expectation to be on-site c1-2 days per month (for key meetings). The client is looking for someone to ideally commence the role in September 2025.

The successful candidate will work with key internal stakeholders to design an agile, pragmatic, proportional procurement sourcing strategies, to meet the key requirements of the role. You will be versed in undertaking complex procurements, particularly in early scoping and strategic options analysis and presentation. You will be required to influence the procurement and commercial landscape – engaging the wider utility/transport, infrastructure markets where applicable to craft new commercial constructs and models and drive continuous improvement. This is a key and exciting project that will result in some real positive impact and change in the North East of England.

Candidates applying MUST HAVE:

  • hands on experience creating and delivering a procurement strategy
  • experience working in a similar role in Bus, Rail or wider Transport across either the Private or Public Sector is required
  • understanding of the new Procurement Act 2023 along with PCR2015 experience would be advantageous
  • strong stakeholder management skills
