HW Finance are recruiting for an Interim Management Accountant to join a Venture Capital firm on a primarily remote basis.
Whilst the role is remote, the successful candidate will be based in Yorkshire and attend occasional team collaboration days at a local working hub.
You will be joining a team of ambitious and highly motivated professionals who invest in exciting, world-class businesses.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant to become an integral part of the Finance & Operations team. The position is offered on a maternity cover basis and will take primary responsibility for the UK sub-advisor entity. There will also be opportunities to contribute to wider finance projects across the business. The team is continually focused on improving processes and leveraging technology, so candidates with ideas around best practice, automation and efficiencies will be encouraged to contribute.
Responsibilities include:
- Ownership of the UK finance operations, ensuring financial reporting through collaboration with external accounting partners and overseas finance teams.
- Monthly management accounts, providing insight into key business performance drivers and monitoring results against budget and forecast expectations.
- Support the preparation and review of statutory accounts, alongside managing tax compliance activities including VAT and Corporation Tax requirements.
- Oversee cash flow forecasting and cash balances.
- Work with external accountants to resolve queries and ensure accurate reporting, including overseeing overseas AP/AR.
- Manage employee expenses and core transactional finance activities, including accruals, prepayments and fixed asset accounting.
- Contribute to annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning cycles, providing analysis to support decision-making.
- Assist with the preparation and review of investor, fund and portfolio reporting, ensuring information is delivered accurately and within required deadlines.
- Undertake ad hoc financial analysis, reporting and project work to support the wider finance function and business objectives.
We’re open to a range of backgrounds, but the ideal candidate will:
- Have experience producing management accounts and be comfortable supporting wider transactional finance activities where required.
- Enjoy operating within a broad, hands-on finance role.
- Possess strong Excel skills, including experience with complex data analysis and reporting.
- Be proactive, adaptable and comfortable working within a fast-paced environment.
Shortlisting and interviews will take place immediately, with an anticipated start date of December 2026.
