Summary: The role of Interim Management Accountant involves supporting core accounting and reporting processes for a rapidly growing ecommerce business on a 6-month contract. The position is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who is detail-oriented and enjoys working with data. Responsibilities include month-end close, management reporting, and contributing to process improvements within the finance team. The role is remote and reports to the Finance Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and variance analysis.
- Assist with the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Perform balance sheet and multi-currency bank reconciliations across several entities.
- Maintain and review accounts payable ledgers, including invoice processing, coding, approvals, and payment runs.
- Support VAT-related activities, including French VAT reporting, working with internal teams and external providers where required.
- Reconcile data from ecommerce platforms and payment providers, ensuring accuracy across high-volume transaction flows.
- Maintain KPIs, dashboards, and reporting to support operational teams across ecommerce, logistics, and marketing.
- Assist with cashflow tracking, forecasting, budgeting, and reforecasting activities.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including automation and finance system enhancements.
- Provide ad hoc analysis and support to the Finance Director and senior stakeholders.
Key Skills:
- Experience in a junior accounting or finance role within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and confidence working with large datasets.
- Solid Excel skills (including lookups, pivot tables, and data analysis).
- Good understanding of core accounting processes and reconciliations.
- Organised, proactive, and eager to learn in a scaling business.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

Harmonic are delighted to be partnering with a fast-growing, purpose-driven ecommerce business in their search for an Interim Assistant/Management Accountant for a 6 month contract. Operating across multiple international markets, the business is continuing to scale rapidly and is looking to strengthen its finance team with a motivated, detail-oriented individual who is keen to develop in a dynamic environment. This role is well suited to someone early in their accounting career who enjoys working with data, supporting month-end processes, and contributing to continuous improvement within a growing finance function.
The Role
Reporting into the Finance Director, you will support core accounting and reporting processes across the group. You’ll be involved in month-end close, management reporting, reconciliations, and accounts payable, while also helping to improve systems, automation, and financial controls as the business scales.
