Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the evolution of the finance function from a legacy setup to a best-in-class, PE-grade department.
- Establish robust internal controls and standardized reporting cycles.
- Conduct a critical assessment of the current ERP landscape and lead vendor due diligence if necessary.
- Take full project management ownership of the year-end audit, resolving historical complexities.
- Play a pivotal role in the post-merger integration (PMI) of new entities.
- Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the month end close process to improve speed and accuracy.
Key Skills:
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent qualification.
- Proven track record in a mid-market environment within SaaS.
- Experience in PE-backed companies is highly advantageous.
- Deep experience with ERP implementations (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics).

Finatal is partnering with a mid-market, PE-backed software business currently undergoing an intensive post-deal professionalization phase. Following a recent investment, the business is seeking a high-caliber Financial Controller to overhaul the controllership function and serve as a key architect in their scaling journey. This is a high-visibility role designed for a candidate who thrives at the intersection of technical accounting, systems transformation, and M&A integration. You will be reporting into the CFO and have no direct reports – this is very much a project role.
Key Responsibilities
- Controllership Transformation: Lead the evolution of the finance function from a legacy setup to a best-in-class, PE-grade department. You will establish robust internal controls and standardized reporting cycles.
- ERP Strategy & Implementation : Conduct a critical assessment of the current ERP landscape. If the system is deemed insufficient for future growth, you will partner with the Transformation Team to lead vendor due diligence and potentially spearhead the full-scale implementation.
- Audit Leadership: Take full project management ownership of the year-end audit. You will be tasked with resolving historical complexities and transforming the audit into a streamlined process.
- M&A & Integration: As an acquisitive business, you will play a pivotal role in the post-merger integration (PMI) of new entities, ensuring seamless absorption into the group’s financial framework and culture.
- Process Engineering: Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the month end close process, improving both the speed and accuracy of management information.
The Ideal Candidate
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
- Proven track record in a mid-market environment within SaaS – you MUST have SaaS experience to be successful in this role.
- PE-backed experience is highly advantageous.
- Deep experience with ERP implementations (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics).
