Summary: The role of Interim Financial Accountant involves supporting a government executive agency for a 6-month period during a busy phase. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver accurate monthly financial reporting to support strategic decision-making.
  • Manage financial accounting processes, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  • Provide technical input on IFRS (with IFRS 9 exposure advantageous).
  • Contribute to system scoping and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with finance system transition projects, including Workday implementation or migration to cloud platforms.
  • Liaise with management and commercial teams to ensure timely and reliable financial information.

Key Skills:

  • Experience from within Central Government or an ALB is a must.
  • Strong background in financial accounting and reporting.
  • Demonstrable experience preparing monthly management and statutory accounts.
  • Knowledge of IFRS (IFRS 9 experience a plus).
  • Track record of supporting system change or improvement projects.

Salary (Rate): £500.00 daily

We are working with a government executive agency on an interim Financial Accountant role for 6 months to support during a busy period. This role will help leadership to focus on their strategic planning duties.
