Summary: The role of Interim Finance Manager is a 12-month contract focused on overseeing the Group's core accounting operations across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions. The position requires an experienced professional to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance in a fast-paced international environment. Responsibilities include statutory accounting, tax compliance, and financial close activities, with a strong emphasis on maintaining audit-ready records. The role involves collaboration with the Financial Controller and oversight of a small finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full responsibility for accounting across Hungarian and UK legal entities
- Oversee and review all general ledger activity, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, expenses, payroll accounting, accruals, and fixed assets
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate journals, reconciliations, and reviews
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring the integrity and completeness of financial data
- Own and oversee Group consolidations, including intercompany accounting, eliminations, and multi-entity reporting
- Ensure accurate foreign exchange revaluations, postings, and reporting in line with applicable accounting standards
- Support the Financial Controller with FX-related analysis and reporting as required
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of all tax filings
- Prepare and review VAT returns for Hungary, France, and the UK
- Manage other jurisdictional filings as required
- Maintain compliance with UK accounting and tax requirements, IFRS, and local statutory regulations
- Oversee and approve bank payments and cash movements
- Maintain strong internal controls across all accounting operations
- Ensure adherence to internal finance policies and procedures
- Own and optimise accounting systems, including Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (ERP)
- Support and enhance Esker (purchase-to-pay and invoicing processes), ensuring effective system controls
- Drive continuous improvements in automation, efficiency, and data quality across the finance function
- Review team output, provide technical guidance, and ensure deadlines are consistently met
- Respond clearly and promptly to accounting and financial queries from management
- Work closely with payroll providers, HR, and other internal departments to ensure smooth financial operations
Key Skills:
- Degree-level education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA)
- Minimum of 2+ years’ relevant post-qualification accounting experience
- Proven experience working in a multi-entity and multi-currency environment
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas and data analysis

This is a 12 mth contract paying £55,000. The role is mainly remote with potentially 1 day a month in the office. We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of the Group’s core accounting operations across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting in a fast-paced, international environment. The Finance Manager will have hands-on responsibility for statutory accounting, tax compliance, multi-entity financial close, and day-to-day accounting leadership. While the Financial Controller leads the Group audit process, this role is responsible for maintaining audit-ready accounting records through robust controls, reconciliations, and strong technical accuracy. The role works closely with the Financial Controller and key internal stakeholders and provides oversight and first-level review of work prepared by three accountants/finance assistants within the team.
Role Purpose

Key Responsibilities
- Accounting & Financial Close
- Full responsibility for accounting across Hungarian and UK legal entities
