Summary: The Interim Finance Manager role is focused on stabilizing and professionalizing the finance function of a recently acquired MGA during a critical integration and growth phase. The position requires a hands-on approach to build financial processes and controls from the ground up in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services, particularly in insurance or MGA settings, and will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and governance. This role is suited for a qualified accountant who can operate autonomously and manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and implement core financial processes, month-end routines, reconciliations and financial controls in an environment with limited existing structure.
- Produce accurate and timely management accounts, integration into the Group Finance Function.
- Support the setup of regulatory and statutory reporting in line with insurance/MGA expectations (FCA/PRA alignment).
- Lead the year-end close, audit preparation and financial governance improvements.
- Drive improvements to systems, accounting workflows and scalable reporting tools suitable for a PE-backed environment.
Key Skills:
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in insurance, MGA, broking or wider financial services.
- Capable of operating in a lean, evolving business, bringing structure, rigour and hands-on delivery.
- Strong financial control, month-end discipline and reporting capability.
- Able to work autonomously and manage senior stakeholder expectations within a PE-backed group.

The Opportunity
A recently acquired MGA, backed by a leading private equity–owned insurance group, is seeking an interim Finance Manager to stabilize and professionalize the finance function during a critical integration and growth phase. The business is small, fast-moving, and currently lacks robust financial processes, controls and reporting. This is a hands-on role for someone who can parachute in, create structure from a blank slate, and quickly bring discipline to financial operations.
