Summary: The Interim Finance AI Consultant role focuses on enhancing management accounting and reconciliation processes through automation and AI-driven solutions. This position is designed to address capacity constraints within the existing team, requiring a hands-on specialist to independently assess workflows and implement improvements. The consultant will work remotely with occasional visits to the Yorkshire office. The contract duration is between 3 to 6 months, with an immediate start preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and assess existing management accounts and reconciliation processes
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through AI and automation tools
- Design and implement solutions to reduce manual intervention and improve accuracy
- Ensure all new processes are clearly documented and embedded within the team
- Operate independently, managing workload and delivering outcomes with minimal supervision
Key Skills:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent experience
- Strong background in management accounting and financial processes
- Demonstrable experience using AI or automation tools within finance, such as:
- Power Automate
- Advanced Excel / Excel AI
- Python or similar technologies
- Proven ability to deliver process improvements in a hands-on, delivery-focused role
- Previous interim, contract, or consulting experience is highly desirable
