The Role
Reporting directly to the Board of Trustees, you will lead the charity through an important transitional period whilst maintaining momentum across all aspects of the organisation.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing strategic and operational leadership across the charity.
- Supporting the Board in refining and delivering the next stage of the organisation's strategic direction.
- Leading the charity through a changing funding landscape whilst identifying opportunities for sustainable growth.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with funders, policymakers, partners, supporters and other external stakeholders.
- Continuing to raise the organisation's profile and influence within its specialist sector.
- Ensuring robust financial management, governance and organisational performance.
- Leading and supporting a small, committed and highly engaged team.
- Creating the foundations for the successful appointment of a permanent Chief Executive.
About You
You will be an experienced charity Chief Executive or senior executive who has successfully led organisations through periods of change, transformation or growth.
You'll be equally comfortable discussing long-term strategy with Trustees as you are rolling your sleeves up and supporting a small team with day-to-day priorities.
We're particularly interested in individuals who can demonstrate:
- Previous CEO or Executive Director level experience within the charity, public, healthcare or wider not-for-profit sector.
- Experience of organisational transformation, strategic change or business turnaround.
- A track record of developing productive relationships with Boards, funders and senior stakeholders.
- Strong financial and commercial awareness.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- A collaborative, pragmatic and supportive leadership style.
- The ability to inspire confidence and provide clarity during periods of change and uncertainty.
