Summary: The Interaction Designer role requires an individual with active SC clearance and extensive experience in the Public Sector, particularly with Government Digital Services. The position is remote and focuses on user-centered design, mentoring, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to create accessible and responsive user interfaces. The contract duration is for 7 months or more, with a daily rate of £525 inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coaching and mentoring other interaction designers, providing constructive feedback on work.
- Advocating for user-centered design to various audiences and stakeholders.
- Understanding technology constraints in design.
- Creating usable, accessible, and responsive user interfaces using visual and interaction design knowledge.
- Running workshops and facilitating design collaboration with other professions.
- Participating in research activities and interpreting user research to inform design.
- Sketching, concept creation, and designing prototypes, including coding interactive prototypes using the GOV.UK Prototyping kit.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including policy, operations, product, delivery, system design, and user-centered design.
- Advocating for user-centered and inclusive design practices across the organization.
- Supporting the development of service strategies and roadmaps for transformation.
Key Skills:
- Active SC clearance.
- Extensive experience in interaction design within the Public Sector.
- Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles.
