Summary: The Integration Engineer role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining integration solutions for healthcare applications, ensuring seamless data flow and compliance with NHS standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain integration solutions across multiple healthcare applications and systems, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.
  • Work closely with clinical, operational, and IT teams to understand integration requirements and deliver technical solutions that meet business and regulatory needs.
  • Develop and manage interfaces between key NHS systems such as electronic patient records (EPR), clinical systems, laboratory systems, and other third-party applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to services and patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with NHS standards and security regulations, including data protection and confidentiality requirements.
  • Collaborate with software vendors and other external partners to configure, implement, and optimize integration solutions.
  • Document integration processes, workflows, and system configurations.
  • Provide technical support and training to staff involved in integration projects.

Key Skills:

  • Strong experience in integrating healthcare IT systems, with a deep understanding of the NHS IT landscape.
  • Proficiency in integration technologies such as HL7, FHIR, IHE, or other interoperability standards.
  • Experience with integration tools like Mirth Connect, Infor Cloverleaf, or similar.
  • Knowledge of NHS data and systems, such as Electronic Health Records (EHR), Patient Administration Systems (PAS), and Clinical Information Systems (CIS).
  • Understanding of health information standards, data exchange formats, and security protocols.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
