Summary: The Integration Consultant will be responsible for the integration and interoperability of Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) with various healthcare IT systems. This role involves technical integration tasks, stakeholder coordination, and ensuring smooth data exchange and workflow alignment. The position is remote and requires strong communication and technical skills in healthcare IT integration. The contract duration is for 6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary technical liaison for RIS/PACS integration efforts, collaborating with internal teams, external customers, and third-party vendors.
- Analyse integration requirements and implement connectivity between RIS/PACS and other hospital systems (e.g., HIS, EMR, modality vendors).
- Design, develop, and troubleshoot HL7 and DICOM message workflows.
- Configure, monitor, and maintain integration interfaces using applicable tools and protocols.
- Perform data analysis and validation using Oracle SQL and contribute to interface configuration and scripting.
- Participate in solution testing, validation, and documentation for integrated workflows.
- Provide technical support during deployments and escalations involving interface or workflow issues.
- Communicate clearly and professionally in both verbal and written formats with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Key Skills:
- Excellent English communication skills: Must be able to effectively interact with external clients, vendors, and internal teams in both spoken and written English.
- Strong experience with HL7 and DICOM standards: Including message formatting, interface engine configuration, and DICOM storage/query/retrieve operations.
- Knowledge of radiology workflows: Understanding of end-to-end radiology processes, including order creation, image acquisition, reporting, and results distribution.
- Proficiency in Oracle SQL: Ability to write queries for data analysis, troubleshooting, and reporting.
- Basic programming/scripting skills: Working knowledge of JavaScript and/or C# for customization, interface extensions, or automation.
- Experience with healthcare integration engines (e.g., Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf) is a plus.
- Familiarity with IHE profiles and standards (e.g., XDS, SWF, ADT, ORM, ORU) is a plus.
- Previous experience supporting imaging systems in a hospital or diagnostic imaging center environment is a plus.
