Key Responsibilities:

We are working with a Business School and consultancy firm that are looking for a Instructional Designer with extensive experience with a blended learning approach for facilitators and participants. The role will be for Higher education and corporate in-house use for senior staff. You will be tasked in designing and writing the learning content and must have a strong understanding on authoring tools, industry trends and how AI can aid in the role
Role
The role is responsible for the development of learning content that will be used as part of their University courses and in house use all the way through to senior staff. You will have to work on high quality course designs which detail instructional content, activities and assessments. The learning should have detailed materials including guides, workbooks, face-to-face classroom courses, materials for virtual delivery, self-study and storyboards for e-learning. You will apply learning theories to ensure that learning is transferred appropriately onto the job, working closely with SME’s to ensure the product meets client needs. Knowledge surrounding AI and how this can be used to benefit the role is essential to benefit the learning materials, whilst being able to research information for inclusion in course content.
Qualifications
University qualification in Instructional Design or a related field such as Learning & Development is highly desirable. Proven experience (approx. 5+ years) designing and developing learning solutions in a corporate, higher education, or consulting environment.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Experience in all phases of the instructional design process, from needs analysis to evaluation.
- Working knowledge of instructional design theories, practice and methods, neuroscience and learning theories/psychology of learning.
- Ability to challenge SMEs/client's ideas and perceptions of requirements then to take high level concepts provided by clients/SMEs, to interpret requirements and learner needs.
- Ability to take high level concepts provided by clients/SMEs, interpret and analyse requirements and learner needs.
- Ability to exercise discretionary judgement in relation to final design and content, taking into account input from various stakeholders.
- Experience in writing/storyboarding elearning.
- Use AI for research, ideas, documentation etc.
- Excellent time management skills, the ability to meet deadlines, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and proactively, tracking upcoming projects and managing multiple projects.
- High level skills in Microsoft Word and good skills in Powerpoint.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Sales experience or experience in developing sales training.
- Experience in developing management training.
- Experience in elearning authoring systems.
- Experience in video editing.
