Whitehall Resources are currently looking for a Infrastructure Architect – SC & NPPV3 Cleared.

This role will be Inside of IR35, so you will be required to use an FCSA Accredited Umbrella Company.

Must not have been outside of the UK for more than 6 Months in the last 5 years.

Key Requirements:

  • The Infrastructure Architect will play a key role within a major organisational transformation programme responsible for aligning multiple organisations, business units, and end-user communities to a unified Target Operating Model (TOM).
  • Working within a multidisciplinary transformation team, the Infrastructure Architect will define, design, and assure the future-state infrastructure architecture required to support consolidated services, platforms, and ways of working.
  • The role will ensure that infrastructure capabilities are scalable, secure, resilient, and aligned with the strategic vision of the transformation programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop & maintain the infrastructure architecture strategy supporting the TOM.
  • Define the future-state infrastructure landscape across cloud, hosting, networking, end-user computing, identity, storage, and platform services.
  • Ensure infrastructure architecture aligns with enterprise architecture principles, business objectives, and transformation outcomes.
  • Work closely with programme teams to support the integration of multiple organisations into the target environment.
  • Assess current-state infrastructure environments and identify opportunities for consolidation and optimisation.
  • Produce high-level and detailed infrastructure designs.
  • Define infrastructure standards, patterns, and reference architectures.
  • Review and assure solution designs, suppliers, and technical partners.
  • Ensure architecture designs meet security, availability, performance, resilience, and operational requirements.
  • Ensure business continuity and operational stability throughout transformation delivery.
  • Define architectural requirements for hosting, connectivity and workplace technology.
  • Ensure tech designs support service integration and operational readiness requirements.
  • Define cloud adoption strategies and migration approaches where appropriate.
  • ID opportunities to modernise legacy infrastructure and improve operational efficiency.
  • Promote infrastructure automation, IaC, and cloud-native design principles.
  • Ensure architectural compliance with security policies, standards, and regulatory reqts.
  • Collaborate with cyber teams to embed secure-by-design principles.
  • Support risk assessments and architectural reviews.
  • Ensure infrastructure solutions meet resilience, DR, backup, and continuity reqts.
  • Work with business stakeholders, technical teams, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into understandable business language.
  • Facilitate workshops and design sessions with architecture and delivery teams.
  • Support decision-making through clear architectural recommendations and assessments.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure suppliers, cloud providers, and technology partners.
  • Ensure third-party solutions align with strategic architecture principles.
  • Support technical governance across multivendor delivery environments.
  • Manage architecture dependencies relating to supplier-delivered services.

Key Experience:

  • Experience as an Infrastructure Architect within complex enterprise environments.
  • Experience with largescale business or organisational transformation programmes.
  • Strong understanding of cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
  • Experience developing migration and transformation roadmaps.
  • Experience with infrastructure consolidation and platform rationalisation.
  • Strong understanding of resiliency, DR, high availability, and BC principles.
  • Ability to evaluate technical solutions against business reqts and strategic objectives.
