Summary: The Informatica Consultant role involves supporting the establishment and activation of an enterprise Data Governance Office within a technology-driven organization. The consultant will leverage their expertise in Informatica to implement and optimize the Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) platform, focusing on data governance capabilities. The position requires collaboration across business and IT teams to enhance self-service data discovery and stewardship. The ideal candidate will be a strategic self-starter with extensive knowledge of Informatica tools and data governance principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Informatica IDMC, with a focus on cataloging, glossary, lineage, and workflow tools.
  • Build and optimize user access workflows (e.g., Marketplace) to support scalable self-service across business units.
  • Collaborate with existing platform admins to fine-tune configuration, user roles, and platform performance.
  • Support technical troubleshooting, system configuration, and coordination with IT and Informatica support teams.
  • Monitor and ensure optimal use of Informatica Processing Units (IPUs) for long-term scalability.
  • Maintain documentation for the data catalog, including data definitions, classifications, sources, and transformation rules.
  • Enable business-aligned data classification and metadata tagging to support governance adoption.
  • Support glossary-to-dataset mapping, report lineage linking, and integration with tools such as Power BI, Databricks, and DBT.
  • Assist in building out a domain-based data stewardship model and aligning glossary content with enterprise processes.
  • Recommend and prioritize governance use cases that offer measurable business value.
  • 5+ years of experience working with Informatica Data Governance tools, ideally within IDMC.
  • Proven ability to implement and manage data catalog, glossary, lineage, and workflow automation features.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data governance principles and compliance best practices.
  • Experience managing user roles, access controls, and permission structures within data platforms.
  • Proficient in administration tasks such as console setup, service configuration, and system maintenance.
  • Ability to integrate Informatica with external platforms such as Power BI, Databricks, and DBT.
  • Experience delivering tool-enabled governance outcomes such as glossary coverage and report lineage mapping.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with technical and business teams in distributed environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience contributing to or launching a data governance program or center of excellence.
  • Familiarity with enterprise-level data stewardship frameworks and stakeholder engagement models.
