Summary: The role of Data Conversion Financial Business Systems Analyst (BSA) involves supporting the migration of financial data from legacy systems to a modern ERP platform. Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the liaison between Finance, IT, and data conversion teams during ERP implementation.
  • Gather and document data requirements and mapping rules for financial modules such as General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets (FA), Projects, and Procurement.
  • Analyze legacy system data to determine readiness for conversion; identify gaps, inconsistencies, or cleansing needs.
  • Collaborate with data conversion developers to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Validate converted data in the target ERP system (e.g., Workday, Oracle, SAP) through reconciliation and audit checks.
  • Coordinate and execute mock conversion cycles, perform data validation, and assist with user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Document conversion rules, test cases, issue logs, and reconciliation reports.
  • Support post go-live financial data validation and assist in historical data access or archiving strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX, audit, and data governance requirements throughout the data conversion process.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a BSA or functional analyst with a focus on financial systems and data migration.
