Summary: The IBMi Hardware Engineer role involves leading and supporting the zSeries Storage hardware and software infrastructure within a large enterprise environment. The position requires strong technical project management skills and experience with IBM zSeries Storage Management. The engineer will collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to ensure service quality and implement automation to enhance operational efficiency. This is a remote position for a duration of six months.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform technical project management for large zSeries infrastructure deployment and evergreening projects.
• Setup automation to reduce manual interventions in the storage infrastructure.
• Test new software and exploit functionality.
• Consolidate and reduce infrastructure complexity.
• Manage risk and cost effectively.
• Ensure service quality targets are met for offered platform services.
• Engage in business stakeholder management and vendor liaison.
• Design, configure, test, implement, and support zSeries storage hardware/software.
• Investigate and implement new technologies to optimize total cost of ownership (TCO).
• Produce high-quality supporting documentation for all engineered solutions.
• Support storage teams for normal operations, migrations, and infrastructure transformation projects.
• Work collaboratively with peers and vendors to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Focus on developing automation tooling to enhance operational efficiency.
