IBM z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition consultant

Summary: The IBM z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition consultant role focuses on the installation, upgrade, and configuration of IBM z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition (zCEE) on z/OS. The consultant will also provide support for API deployment and integration with backend systems, ensuring compatibility and performance optimization. Additionally, the role includes offering guidance on transitioning APIs from OAS2 to OAS3 and providing training support for developers. This is a long-term remote contract position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and configure IBM z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition (zCEE) on z/OS.
• Upgrade existing zCEE environments to support OpenAPI Specification 3 (OAS3).
• Perform system setup, configuration, and environment validation.
• Troubleshoot installation issues and ensure performance optimization.
• Apply best practices for security, scalability, and high availability.
• Configure connectivity with backend systems (e.g., CICS, IMS, DB2).
• Support deployment and validation of APIs within zCEE.
• Ensure compatibility with existing OAS2 services during transition.
• Provide guidance on recreating OAS2 APIs into OAS3 (manual approach).
• Support developers with Swagger/OpenAPI authoring basics.
• Assist with API deployment in zCEE.
• Deliver basic admin/end-user knowledge transfer.

Key Skills:

• Experience with IBM z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition (zCEE).
• Knowledge of OpenAPI Specification 3 (OAS3) and OAS2.
• Proficiency in system setup and configuration on z/OS.
• Ability to troubleshoot installation issues.
