Summary: The IBM webMethods Administrator is tasked with the comprehensive administration, stability, and optimization of the webMethods integration platform. This role involves managing production environments, leading incident management, and collaborating with various teams to ensure the performance and availability of enterprise integrations. The position requires a strong technical background in webMethods and related technologies, along with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues. Key Responsibilities:

  • Own installation, configuration, upgrade, and patching of IBM webMethods components including Integration Server, Universal Messaging and Broker, Command Central, My webMethods Server (MWS).
  • Manage multiple environments (DEV, QA, UAT, PROD) with environment consistency and governance.
  • Plan and execute version upgrades and migrations with minimal downtime.
  • Certificate installation of target partners as per their requirement.
  • Knowledge on webMethods designer and coding skills.
  • Act as L3 escalation point for production issues.
  • Lead major incident calls, perform root cause analysis, and drive permanent fixes.
  • Analyze logs, heap dumps, and thread dumps to resolve complex JVM and runtime issues.
  • Coordinate with IBM/webMethods support for critical SRs.
  • Proactively monitor system health, message backlogs, memory utilization, and thread usage.
  • Perform performance tuning, JVM optimization, and capacity planning.
  • Design and maintain High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) setups.
  • Manage users, groups, roles, and ACLs within webMethods.
  • Integrate authentication with LDAP / enterprise identity systems.
  • Configure SSL, certificates, and secure communications.
  • Support audit, compliance, and security reviews.
  • Automate deployments, restarts, housekeeping, and health checks using Command Central and scripting.
