Summary: The role of IBM AIX Subject Matter Expert (SME) involves administering, supporting, and optimizing enterprise IBM AIX environments. The candidate must possess extensive experience with IBM Power Systems and virtualization technologies, along with strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills. The position requires collaboration with various teams to ensure high-availability infrastructure support. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for developing automation scripts and maintaining technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain IBM AIX servers in enterprise production environments.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot IBM Power Systems infrastructure.
- Perform system upgrades, patching, migrations, and performance optimization.
- Manage HMC, VIOS, LPARs, and virtualization environments.
- Implement and support high-availability and disaster recovery solutions using PowerHA.
- Monitor system health, capacity, and performance metrics.
- Troubleshoot OS, hardware, storage, and network-related issues.
- Support backup, recovery, and business continuity operations.
- Develop automation scripts for operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, storage, and network teams.
- Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational procedures.
- Participate in on-call support and critical incident management.
Key Skills:
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with IBM AIX Administration.
