Summary: We are looking for a highly experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) in IBM AIX/pSeries to lead data and application migrations to IBM x86/VMware platforms. The role demands deep technical expertise, a successful track record in migration projects, and strong communication and leadership skills. The position is primarily remote but may require occasional travel. The contract duration is expected to be over 3 months with potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute data and application migrations from IBM AIX/pSeries to x86 VMware platforms.
- Assess source and target environments, analyze system dependencies, and develop a comprehensive migration strategy.
- Present migration strategies, timelines, level of effort (LoE), and risk assessments to executive stakeholders and client leadership teams.
- Identify and coordinate technical resources, tools, and tasks required for successful migration execution.
- Provide hands-on guidance and support throughout all phases of the migration lifecycle.
- Work cross-functionally with infrastructure, application, and business teams to ensure alignment and minimal downtime during migration.
- Create documentation for migration planning, execution, rollback, and validation processes.
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution efforts in case of migration issues or performance bottlenecks.
Key Skills:
- Expertise in IBM AIX/pSeries to x86 data/application migration.
- Hands-on experience with multiple engagements in data and application migrations from pSeries/AIX to IBM x86 VMware.

MUST be able to make presentations to the end client executive team on migration strategy, level of efforts involved, identify resources needed to accomplish various project tasks.
