Summary: The HV Plant Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting a large-scale 400kV National Grid infrastructure project, primarily working remotely with occasional site visits. This position involves leading the design and engineering of high-voltage plant systems, ensuring compliance with National Grid standards, and collaborating with various stakeholders. The role requires strong technical expertise in HV systems and excellent communication skills to facilitate project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the design and engineering of high-voltage (HV) plant systems for a 400kV substation project.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with National Grid standards and specifications.
  • Produce and review technical documentation, including single-line diagrams, layout drawings, and equipment specifications.
  • Interface with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Provide technical input during design reviews and project meetings.
  • Support CDM compliance and contribute to safety and risk assessments.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience working on 400kV National Grid projects.
  • Strong understanding of HV plant systems, including transformers, switchgear, and protection systems.
  • Revit design experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience acting as the CDAE (Control, Design, and Assurance Engineer) on similar projects is ideal but not essential.
  • Familiarity with National Grid technical specifications and design standards.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Overview:We are seeking an experienced HV Plant Engineer to support a large-scale 400kV National Grid infrastructure project. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-profile energy initiative, working remotely with occasional site visits as required.

  • Lead and support the design and engineering of high-voltage (HV) plant systems for a 400kV substation project.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with National Grid standards and specifications.
  • Produce and review technical documentation, including single-line diagrams, layout drawings, and equipment specifications.
