The role will suit an experienced HR generalist with a solid employee relations background who can pick up a live caseload quickly and work independently.
It could fit someone who has operated at a senior level and wants a flexible interim assignment, or someone between permanent roles who wants to broaden their ER experience.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The HR Advisor takes ownership of a varied employee relations caseload during a busy period, supports managers with practical advice, and covers wider generalist HR activity where needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take ownership of a varied employee relations caseload.
- Manage short-term and long-term sickness absence cases.
- Support fact-finding and HR investigations.
- Handle disciplinary, grievance, performance and capability matters.
- Provide practical HR advice and guidance to managers.
- Liaise with external legal advisers and follow through on advice.
- Maintain HR case files and documentation.
- Support Occupational Health referrals and processes.
- Compile HR data and management information.
- Support relevant risk assessments.
- Pick up wider generalist HR activity as required.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Previous HR experience with a strong employee relations component.
- Working knowledge of UK employment law and ER procedures.
- Confidence advising managers and handling sensitive cases with discretion.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload remotely.
- Availability to start at short notice.
- A stable home internet connection and a quiet workspace.
- The right to work in the UK.
DESIRABLE
- CIPD Level 5 or above.
- Experience in a regulated sector such as health, social care, education or charity.
- Previous interim or contract HR experience.
WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS
