Summary: The Human Factors Engineer (Aerospace) role is a fully remote contract position focused on supporting a long-term aviation program through its conceptual and preliminary design phases. Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute design activities in line with system requirements within the scope of Human Factors and Human System Integration, reporting to the Chief Engineer.
  • Perform requirements engineering activities and prepare 2D drawings using project-provided tools, alongside the complete set of required technical documentation.
  • Incorporate and manage feedback from cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, flight test, pilot vehicle interface software, simulator development, and configuration management.
  • Participate in design change and optimization activities throughout product development.
  • Develop human system integration solutions in response to issues identified during usability, human error, human reliability, situational awareness, and workload evaluations.
  • Support requirement change activities as design evolves.
  • Proactively identify, communicate, and manage technical risks and issues, escalating to the Chief Engineer as required.
  • Deliver all assigned design outputs in accordance with the agreed project schedule.
  • Produce regular activity and progress reports for management review.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of applicable regulations and legislation, ensuring compliance and proposing updates or new requirements where necessary.

Contract Duration: 18 months
Working Arrangement: Fully remote, with periodic travel

We are seeking an experienced Human Factors Engineer with a strong aerospace background to support a long-term aviation program through its conceptual and preliminary design phases.

The contract spans 18 months, with conceptual activities planned for completion within the first 10 months, followed by an 8-month preliminary design phase.
