Healthcare Underwriting Systems Developer (SQL & Rule-Based Rating Systems)

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement SQL queries and stored procedures for healthcare underwriting systems.
• Configure and support rule-based underwriting/rating systems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Conduct data analysis and ETL processes related to healthcare data.
• Participate in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.

Key Skills:

• Strong hands-on SQL experience (complex queries, joins, stored procedures, performance tuning).
• Experience working with rule-based underwriting/rating systems such as Stepwise, ABACUS, Facets Rating, HealthRules, or similar platforms.
• Experience in system configuration, development, implementation, and support.
• Knowledge of rating engines, pricing models, underwriting workflows, and business rules frameworks.
• Experience with ETL/data analysis and healthcare data processing is preferred.
• Understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and testing processes.
• Strong healthcare industry background is mandatory.
• Experience working with Health Insurance, Underwriting, Rating/Pricing, Actuarial Data, Member/Provider/Claims Data, and Benefits and Eligibility systems.
