Summary: The Healthcare Information Consultant role involves extensive expertise in the health-IT industry, focusing on Electronic Health Records and related technologies. The consultant will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing technical personnel while maintaining relationships with various stakeholders. This position requires a deep understanding of health information systems and a strong background in project management. The role is remote and offered as a 12-month contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Extensive knowledge/skills of the health-IT industry which includes multi-tiered architectures, enterprise applications, evaluation of emerging technologies, networks, data management systems, enterprise security, and hardware systems as they relate to Electronic Health Records, Health Information Exchanges and Electronic Medication Administration Records
- Ability to plan, organize, direct, and review the work of technical personnel.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with clients, technical staff, management, vendors, and others.
- Extensive knowledge of the principles and techniques of planning programs and work activities in a technical environment.
- Plans, designs, develops, and implements architecture for systems, applications, security, or other highly specialized phases of IT architecture.
- 10+ years experience working with Electronic Health Records
- 5+ years experience with using Nextgen EHR, PM and EDR
- Nextgen Certification
- Have extensive knowledge of Nextgen Healthcare's Template editor, creating customized
- HIPAA knowledge/experience
- Experience with ICD-9/ICD-10
- 5 +Health care specific data interface standards, and health information exchange technologies
- Experience with HL7 (highly preferred)
- Experience with SQL (highly preferred)
- Experience with Crystal Reports, eMAR, Mirth, PACs,CIPS/Fusion or Merge (highly preferred)
- Project management principles and methodologies (Preferred)
