Summary: The Health & Safety Consultant role is a fully remote freelance position that involves managing a portfolio of clients to enhance workplace safety through practical guidance and support. The consultant will conduct risk assessments, deliver training, and promote compliance with health and safety regulations. This position requires a proactive individual with proven experience in health and safety consultancy. The role also includes site visits to ensure effective client engagement and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out comprehensive health, safety, and fire risk assessments
- Develop and implement tailored H&S management systems and policies
- Provide clear, solution-focused advice and support to clients
- Deliver engaging H&S training sessions and workshops
- Act as Lead Consultant for key client accounts
- Promote and support the use of H&S software and reporting platforms
- Stay up to date with UK legislation, guidance, and best practice
- Identify opportunities to develop and grow existing client relationships
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in a Health & Safety Consultant role (or similar client-facing position)
- Recognised qualification (NEBOSH / IOSH or equivalent)
- Strong working knowledge of UK H&S legislation and best practice
- Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills
- Fire safety qualification(s) (desirable)
- Confident using Microsoft Office and H&S software systems
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Working towards or already CMIOSH status (advantageous)

The role
