Summary: The Head of Mobile, Mobile Architect role involves leading the architectural strategy for large-scale mobile solutions in a client-facing capacity. This senior position requires engagement with senior stakeholders and the ability to translate business goals into scalable mobile architectures. The role also includes managing teams of mobile engineers and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The opportunity is available as a contract position with a competitive daily rate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the bridge between business goals and technology, translating client objectives into scalable mobile solutions.
- Lead discovery sessions, workshops, and pre-sales engagements, producing artefacts such as HLA diagrams, context diagrams, LLDs, and NFRs.
- Define and implement mobile architectures including super apps, micro-frontends, and modular frameworks.
- Engage with VP-level and senior stakeholders, presenting recommendations and influencing governance decisions.
- Respond to RFIs and RFPs with formal documentation for large enterprise clients.
- Set up and lead teams (8+ Mobile engineers), providing the roadmap, structure, and environment for delivery success.
- Make and present Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), clearly evaluating options and recommending solutions.
- Ensure compliance and best practice for regulated industries (insurance, medical, fintech, and beyond).
Key Skills:
- Proven experience as a Mobile Architect and or Leader.
- Strong technical breadth across Native and/or React Native and/or Flutter mobile stacks.
- Track record of working on large-scale, enterprise mobile applications.
- Experience leading workshops, discovery, and strategy sessions with stakeholders.
- Skilled in diagramming and technical documentation (HLA, context, LLD, NFRs).
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, able to own client relationships and drive delivery outcomes.
- Previous exposure to pre-sales, governance, and regulated environments.
- Excellent English communication skills (B1+ minimum).
