An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Contract Management & Compliance to join a global procurement function undergoing continued growth and transformation.

This high-profile role offers the chance to establish best-practice contract governance, strengthen compliance frameworks, and influence procurement operations on an international scale.

Initially offered as a contract/interim assignment through to early 2027, there is strong potential for the role to become permanent.

The position can be performed on a fully remote basis, with minimal travel requirements.

Your new role

Reporting into senior procurement leadership, you will act as the organisation's subject-matter expert for contract governance, compliance, and procurement controls.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development of contract management policies, procedures, and governance frameworks
  • Creating and maintaining standard contract templates, terms and conditions, and supplier agreement documentation
  • Reviewing, negotiating, and advising on supplier contracts, identifying and mitigating contractual risks
  • Managing central contract repositories, governance processes, and compliance reporting
  • Conducting contract audits and compliance reviews to ensure adherence to policy and regulatory requirements
  • Acting as the escalation point for contract interpretation, disputes, and complex commercial issues
  • Developing risk and control frameworks to strengthen procurement compliance and assurance
  • Working collaboratively with global procurement, legal, finance, and operational stakeholders to drive consistency and best practice
  • Supporting procurement transformation, process improvement, and standardisation initiatives across international operations

What you'll need to succeed

  • Significant experience in contract management, procurement governance, contract compliance, or procurement operations
  • Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and contract life cycle management expertise
  • Experience developing policies, procedures, controls, and compliance frameworks
  • Knowledge of procurement governance, audit processes, and risk management principles
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders across global and cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working within complex international organisations
  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience
  • CIPS, legal, contract management, or other relevant professional qualifications would be advantageous
  • Previous experience within procurement compliance, contract auditing, legal operations, or commercial governance environments is highly desirable
