Summary: The HCM Technical Consultant role is a contract position focused on providing technical expertise in HCM systems, specifically UKG Pro or Rippling. The consultant will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, leading system integrations, configurations, and reporting efforts to enhance system performance and client satisfaction. This fully remote position requires a blend of technical skills and functional HR knowledge to effectively support clients in optimizing their HCM systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a client-facing resource to manage system configuration, workflow setup, integration testing, and validation activities.
- Lead and support key milestones in system implementations, transitions, and optimization projects.
- Build custom and templated reports to empower clients with actionable insights.
- Provide tailored training sessions to drive end-user adoption and system proficiency.
- Analyze client needs, current workflows, and data flows to identify opportunities for system enhancement and process improvement.
- Collaborate with client stakeholders and vendors to troubleshoot, resolve, and optimize integration performance.
- Develop and execute thorough testing plans (SIT, UAT, Parallel) to ensure system accuracy and reliability.
- Act as a liaison between platform vendors and internal teams, translating business needs into technical requirements.
- Support benefits-related system configurations, open enrollment testing, and carrier feed setup (EDI/API).
- Maintain documentation and audit trails to meet compliance and governance standards.
Key Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in technical HCM system implementation, preferably with UKG Pro or Rippling.
- Deep understanding of HCM platforms generally (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, Workday, Ceridian, Paycom, Kronos, etc.)
- Strong grasp of data mapping, workflow configuration, and report development.
- Experience working with APIs, EDI files, or flat file integrations between HCM systems and third-party platforms.
- Proficiency in Excel for data validation, transformation, and analysis.
- Comfortable leading technical conversations and translating complex concepts into client-friendly language.
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple concurrent projects and prioritize under tight deadlines.
- High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and a solutions-focused mindset.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee data securely.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, HRIS, or related field preferred (but not required).
