Summary: Responsible for leading the data validation efforts between Guidewire Aurora DB and SQL Server DB, the Guidewire QA Lead will oversee test planning, validation framework creation, and execution coordination with onsite teams. The role ensures data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and BillingCenter modules. This position requires extensive experience in QA strategy and cross-database comparison. The role is remote and spans over 6 months with potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead overall QA strategy for cross-database comparison for PC/CC/BC applications.
- Prepare detailed Test Plan, Test Scenarios, Entry/Exit Criteria, and Effort Estimates.
- Assign tasks to Junior QA ETL Tester and monitor completion.
- Coordinate with onsite dev, data engineering, and functional QA teams.
- Conduct daily stand-ups, progress reporting, and defect triaging.
- Understand Guidewire data models for PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter.
- Analyze schemas in Aurora DB (PostgreSQL/MySQL flavor) and SQL Server DB and identify differences.
- Create automated or semi-automated data comparison scripts (SQL queries, checksum logic, row counts, column-level diff).
- Validate ETL/replication logic (if applicable): Record counts, Primary/foreign key integrity, Data type comparison, Referential integrity, Transformation rules (if any).
- Validate entity and column mapping for PC/CC/BC tables across both systems.
- Root-cause mismatches and work with dev teams to resolve issues.
- Enforce QA best practices and code review for SQL/scripts used in comparison.
- Ensure documentation of all mismatches, data gaps, and reconciliation logs.
- Sign-off on data validation results for each Guidewire module.
- Deliver Test Plan + Entry/Exit Criteria, Test Scenarios & Test Scripts, SQL Comparison Scripts, Daily/Weekly Status Reports, Defect Logs & RCA Summary, Final Data Reconciliation Report.
Key Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in QA and data validation.
- Strong knowledge of Guidewire data models (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter).
- Experience with Aurora DB (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and SQL Server DB.
- Proficiency in creating automated data comparison scripts.
- Ability to validate ETL/replication logic and ensure data integrity.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
