Summary: The role is for a Mid-Level Guidewire PolicyCenter Developer who will contribute to the development of a unified insurance platform on Guidewire Cloud. The position is remote but may require occasional office visits in Columbus, OH. The developer will be responsible for creating and enhancing PolicyCenter components while collaborating with various teams to deliver high-quality solutions. This is a 6-month contract with the potential for permanent employment, requiring work on a W2 basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop PolicyCenter components, including product model, rating engine, APIs, UI, batch processes, and integrations.
  • Drive implementation of enhancements, resolve configuration issues and contribute to sprint planning and demos within an Agile development team.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and international consulting partners to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable code that adheres to established standards, help reduce technical debt, and support code reviews.
  • Support production Guidewire applications, including on-call responsibilities.
  • Use Splunk and DataDog (APM) tools to troubleshoot issues and improve application performance.
  • Research new cloud capabilities and perform upgrades.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment to grow both teammates and self.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience developing in GOSU for PolicyCenter configurations.
  • Guidewire Cloud Associate Developer certification (or willingness to obtain), with interest in pursuing higher-level certifications such as Certified Specialist or Certified Ace.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment practices ideally in Guidewire Cloud.
  • Highly motivated, with strong communication skills and both creative and critical thinking abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Strong background in object-oriented programming, with experience in Java/J2EE, REST APIs, XML, SQL, or similar technologies.
  • Preference given to candidates with working knowledge of the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance domain.
