Summary: The Group Finance Specialist role at a FTSE 100 company involves providing technical accounting and group financial reporting support until May 2026. The position requires an immediate start and focuses on consolidated reporting, month-end processes, and coordination of annual reports. Key Responsibilities:

  • Timely and accurate consolidated reporting.
  • Support the Group finance team and Director in delivering the Group consolidation process each month.
  • Support Head Office with month-end close for their entities.
  • Prepare IFRS 9 monthly review and investigate as required.
  • Undertake balance sheet reviews across the Group.
  • Coordinate the production of annual report and accounts, interim financial statement and trading updates.
  • Lead on validation of external reporting material.
  • Key contact for auditors, managing the annual audit process.
  • Prepare board papers and supporting materials for the Audit Committee.
  • Prepare calculations for Group Global recharges.
  • Review and approve system changes.
  • Support the improvement of the Group controls framework.

Key Skills:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent), ideally with an audit background and strong academics.
  • Experience working within group finance functions in large, complex or listed companies.
  • Excellent technical accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of the current regulatory environment and awareness of upcoming changes.
  • Highly analytical and sharp attention to detail.
  • Able to work at pace and scale, especially over key reporting deadlines.
  • Positive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will have significant experience in technical accounting and group financial reporting within large or listed companies. This role requires an immediate start.

Description

The responsibilities of the Group Finance Specialist include, but are not limited to:

  • Timely and accurate consolidated reporting.
  • Support the Group finance team and Director in delivering the Group consolidation process each month, including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow performance metrics.
  • Support Head Office with month-end close for their entities, including review and approval of month-end journals.
  • Prepare IFRS 9 monthly review and investigate as required.
  • Undertake balance sheet reviews across the Group.
  • Coordinate the production of annual report and accounts, interim financial statement and trading updates, including supporting workings and accounting papers.
  • Lead on validation of external reporting material.
  • Key contact for auditors, managing the annual audit process.
  • Prepare board papers and supporting materials for the Audit Committee.
  • Prepare calculations for Group Global recharges.
  • Review and approve system changes.
  • Support the improvement of the Group controls framework.
