Summary: The Grid Compliance Engineer role involves providing expertise and support for renewable energy projects, focusing on compliance with distribution and transmission connection requirements. The position requires managing compliance interfaces with various energy operators and producing technical documentation. The role is remote with occasional site visits and team meetings. The contract is set to last until December 31, 2025, with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of compliance related interfaces with National Energy System Operator (NESO), Transmission Owner (TO) and distribution network operator (DNO) for multiple projects through the construction and operations phases.
  • Management of the BMU and metering registration process for multiple projects.
  • Production and review of technical documentation. Review and approval of external reports/studies.
  • Manage the weekly reports and project management tools for the allocated projects.

Key Skills:

  • Previous experience with projects in the Renewables industry required.
  • Ability to present experience and knowledge of Grid Code and Grid Compliance.
  • An understanding of electrical system studies and EMT/RMS model requirement.
  • Strong experience of managing risks and challenges in a renewables environment.

Location: REMOTE with occasional site visit and Team meeting 1x a month

Contract Type: 31st December 2025, subject to extension

IR35 Status: Inside, Umbrella

Day rate: £500-600/day

Hours of work: 37 hours per week, 5 days

Role Overview

As a Grid Compliance Engineer, you will be responsible for providing support and expertise on all matters relating to a range of renewable energy projects and technology types. This includes maintaining competency and knowledge of both distribution and transmission connection requirements.
