Description & Requirements
On behalf of BEIS, we are looking for a Governance,, Risk and compliance consultant Inside IR35 for a 4 month contract based REMOTELY.
As a Governance, Risk and compliance consultant, your main responsibilities will be:
- Develop and maintain NIST CSF 2.0 profile documentation.
- Assess current cyber security capabilities against the NIST CSF 2.0 framework.
- Conduct detailed maturity and gap assessments.
- Review, collect and organise supporting evidence and artefacts.
- Produce governance, assurance and compliance documentation.
- Deliver assessment reports, findings and recommendations.
- Support programme milestones through high-quality project outputs.
- Provide expert advice on governance, risk and compliance improvements.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of assessment activities.
Required Experience
- Proven experience working with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ideally NIST CSF 2.0.
- Strong background in Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) within cyber security and technology environments.
- Experience conducting maturity assessments, control assessments or compliance reviews.
- Ability to perform detailed gap analysis and identify improvement opportunities.
- Strong documentation and report-writing skills.
- Experience delivering consultancy services within project-based environments.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Desirable Experience
- Experience supporting external audits, assessments or assurance reviews.
- Knowledge of security governance and risk management frameworks.
- Exposure to ISO 27001, CIS Controls, COBIT or similar frameworks.
- Experience working within regulated or complex enterprise environments.

PLEASE NOTE: CTC/SC/DV Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.
