Summary: The Google Workspace Migration Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert on Google Workspace accounts and collaborate with migration teams to ensure a smooth transition to Microsoft 365. The role involves analyzing existing email infrastructure, engaging with end-users, and ensuring compliance with security and governance policies. This position is fully remote, with the option to work from Ann Arbor, Michigan, and is classified as outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Google Workspace (GWS) accounts, permissions, access control, and application usage across the client environment.
- Partner with the UK-based Banking migration team to address GWS-related queries and provide technical solutions aligned with organizational needs.
- Collaborate with the Microsoft 365 (M365) migration team to ensure a smooth and secure transition from GWS to M365.
- Analyze and document the existing email infrastructure and GWS app utilization to inform migration planning and tool selection.
- Engage with end-users to understand usage patterns (internal, external, or hybrid) and provide tailored guidance during the migration process.
- Ensure all migration activities comply with Banking's security, compliance, and data governance policies.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to manage user communication, training, and migration-related notifications.
- Recommend appropriate migration tools, methodologies, and best practices to support an efficient and low-risk transition.
- Support the decommissioning of the legacy GWS environment after successful migration and data validation.
