Summary: We are seeking an experienced Google Workspace Migration Specialist to facilitate the transition from legacy platforms to Google Workspace. This role requires technical planning, configuration, data migration, and user support, ensuring a seamless migration experience. The specialist will work closely with IT stakeholders and end-users to address migration challenges and ensure compliance with data security policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end migration of emails, calendars, contacts, files, and permissions to Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.).
- Assess current IT environments and define the migration strategy, roadmap, and technical approach.
- Use tools such as Google Workspace Migrate, GWSMO, GWMME, CloudM, BitTitan, or custom scripts for migration.
- Configure Google Admin Console settings, domains, security, and organizational units (OUs).
- Troubleshoot and resolve migration-related issues, performance bottlenecks, and user access concerns.
- Conduct pre-migration assessments, test migrations, and post-migration validations.
- Provide training, documentation, and technical support for users and administrators.
- Ensure compliance with data security, retention policies, and regulatory requirements during and after the migration.
Key Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) migrations from legacy systems.
- Proficiency with Google Admin Console, Google Workspace tools, and migration utilities.
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Outlook, Office 365, or other enterprise email/file systems.
- Solid understanding of IMAP/SMTP, DNS, SSO, OAuth, directory sync (LDAP/AD/Google Directory Sync).
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple migration waves in a remote, cross-functional environment.
