Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize strong experience in enterprise IT, focusing on Google Workspace and Google Cloud automation.
- Develop and optimize data models, queries, and pipelines within the Google Cloud environment.
- Build, design, and enhance Looker dashboards and reports for business visualization needs.
- Collaborate with the client’s onsite Google Architect to clarify and resolve technical questions.
- Support project kick-off and assist with rapid onboarding in a fast-paced delivery environment.
- Ensure adherence to confidentiality agreements and data security standards.
- Use Python scripts for managing and automating data movement between systems.
- Design governance models for Workspace automation at scale.
- Troubleshoot data issues and collaborate effectively with technical architects.
- Translate business requirements into practical technical frameworks.

Smartedge’s Client is looking for an individual to help with their Google Workspace Architect @ UK (100% Remote working)
Key area: Strong experience in enterprise IT, with at least 3+ years focused on Google Workspace or Google Cloud automation. Deep expertise in Google Apps Script, Workspace APIs (Sheets, Drive, Gmail, Calendar), and OAuth2 authentication. Strong hands-on expertise in Google BigQuery. Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) tools and services. Good understanding and practical experience with Looker, including reporting, data modelling, and dashboard design. Proficiency in Python for data movement or automation tasks. Experience working in fast-paced, time-critical project environments. Ability to troubleshoot data issues and collaborate effectively with technical architects. Strong understanding of Excel/VBA constructs, macros, and common automation patterns. Experience designing governance models for Workspace automation at scale. Familiarity with GCP components such as BigQuery, Cloud Logging, Pub/Sub, and Artifact Registry (preferred but not mandatory). Strong ability to collaborate with business teams and translate requirements into practical technical frameworks. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to simplify technical concepts for business audiences. Mentorship mindset; calm under pressure; structured and analytical.
Work with large datasets previously managed through macros and migrate/optimize them using BigQuery. Develop data models, queries, and optimised pipelines within the Google Cloud environment. Build, design, and enhance Looker dashboards/reports for business visualisation needs. Use Python scripts to manage and automate data movement between systems (limited to ETL/ELT tasks). Collaborate closely with the client’s onsite Google Architect to clarify and resolve technical questions. Work as an internal resource within the client’s environment, following their access and compliance protocols. Ensure all work adheres to active confidentiality agreements and data security standards. Support project kick-off, assist with rapid onboarding, and contribute to a fast-paced delivery environment.
