Summary: The Google Cloud Platform Admin role involves supporting the design, implementation, and administration of cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. The position requires extensive experience in managing GCP resources, ensuring operational excellence, security, and compliance. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps and Security, to optimize cloud performance and manage resources effectively. This is a remote position for a contract duration of 6-12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and manage Google Cloud Platform cloud infrastructure including Compute Engine, VPC, Cloud IAM, Cloud Storage, GKE, Cloud DNS, and Cloud Monitoring.
- Set up and manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies and service accounts to ensure secure access to Google Cloud Platform resources.
- Configure and maintain networking and security components including firewall rules, VPNs, and interconnects.
- Monitor usage, cost optimization, and performance across Google Cloud Platform environments.
- Manage Google Cloud Platform projects, billing accounts, quotas, and resources using console, SDK, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform).
- Implement and maintain logging, monitoring, and alerting using Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring, and third-party tools.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and lead root cause analysis for incidents.
- Support migration of workloads to Google Cloud Platform and ongoing operational support.
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure adherence to industry and organizational standards.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 8 years of IT experience with a focus on systems/cloud administration.
- 3 years hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) administration.
- Deep understanding of Google Cloud Platform core services: Compute, Networking, IAM, Storage, Kubernetes, BigQuery, etc.
- Experience with Terraform, gcloud CLI, and Google Cloud Platform SDK.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices and identity management.
- Experience managing CI/CD pipelines, automation, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.).
- Google Cloud Platform Certification Preferred (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Associate Cloud Engineer, or Professional DevOps Engineer).
