Position Overview
We are looking for a strong Golang Developer to join a newly formed engineering team supporting Event Horizon, Walmart’s enterprise messaging platform. The platform powers critical promotions and customer engagement capabilities across Walmart’s digital ecosystem and handles high-volume production workloads.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong hands-on Golang and application development experience who has worked with distributed systems, microservices, messaging platforms, and cloud technologies.
Must-Have Skills
- Strong hands-on Golang / Go development experience
- Strong Application Development background
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience building backend services and microservices
- Experience with distributed systems
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs
- Experience with cloud platforms — Google Cloud Platform preferred, AWS/Azure also considered
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Golang and Java
- Build and enhance components of Walmart’s Event Horizon messaging platform
- Develop highly available and fault-tolerant distributed systems
- Build APIs, microservices, and asynchronous event-driven solutions
- Work with Product Managers, Architects, and Engineering teams
- Improve platform performance, scalability, reliability, and observability
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis
- Contribute to CI/CD, automation, and operational excellence
- Participate in architecture discussions and technical design decisions
