Summary: The Geospatial Product Owner will lead the development and delivery of innovative digital mapping and location-based services for a government program. This role involves managing the product roadmap, translating stakeholder needs into actionable user stories, and collaborating with technical teams to ensure high-impact geospatial solutions. The position is remote and initially offered as a 6-month contract, classified as outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and manage the geospatial product roadmap and backlog.
- Translate stakeholder requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate closely with technical teams including developers, analysts and data engineers.
- Ensure that geospatial products are aligned with user needs, business goals and wider digital strategies.
- Lead Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
- Prioritise features and tasks to ensure timely delivery and measurable value.
Key Skills:
- Proven Product Owner experience in geospatial or GIS domains.
- Strong knowledge of tools like MapLibre, Esri and CesiumJS or similar technologies.
- Agile mind-set with excellent communication and stakeholder skills.
