Summary: The Geospatial Administrator role involves supporting a large-scale digital mapping and geospatial program through data management and systems administration. The position requires attention to detail and collaboration with technical teams to ensure the integrity of geospatial assets. This is a remote, six-month contract position classified as outside IR35. Candidates must be eligible for Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the setup, maintenance and optimisation of geospatial data systems and tools
- Perform administrative tasks such as user access control, metadata management, and documentation upkeep
- Ensure data integrity, compliance and proper version control of spatial datasets
- Liaise with technical teams to support workflows and data pipelines
- Maintain records of system changes, licences, and operational procedures
- Assist with the on-boarding of new users and troubleshooting issues related to GIS tools and platforms
Key Skills:
- Experience working with GIS systems such as ArcGIS, QGIS or web-based geospatial platforms
- Familiarity with spatial data formats and data entry best practices
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical teams
- Knowledge of metadata standards and geospatial data governance (desirable)
